Monster House came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of games based on animated films, arriving when the GBA was still a solid platform for portable adventures. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it was a decent title to find in the bargain bin.

You control a kid named DJ, exploring a living, breathing house that wants to swallow you whole. Your main goal is to rescue your friend Chowder from the house's clutches. You move from room to room, each screen a new puzzle or combat encounter. You use a water gun to freeze monsters, then shatter them with a kick; you also collect ectoplasm to power up your weapons and health. The game keeps a steady pace, though some rooms can be tricky to figure out. It feels like a straightforward, slightly spooky crawl through a haunted maze.
