Monster Gate 2 - Dai Inaru Dungeon (j)(rising Sun) Game

Monster Gate 2 is one of those weird little GBA dungeon crawlers that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this odd charm to it. You start off picking a party of three from a bunch of fantasy classes (samurai, mages, thieves, the usual), and right away you’re thrown into this grid-based dungeon where every step could mean a random battle or a trap.
What I like is how fast it moves—no long intros, just straight into the action. The sprites are tiny but detailed, and the turn-based combat feels snappy. Some of the monster designs are legit creepy for a GBA game, too. Just don’t expect a deep story; it’s more about grinding, finding gear, and surviving floor after floor.
If you’re into old-school dungeon RPGs with a bite-sized feel, this one’s worth a look—if you can find it.
