About Midnight Club : Street Racing
Midnight Club: Street Racing came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Rockstar San Diego. It was one of the few 3D racing games on the handheld at the time, a period when developers were still figuring out how to translate console-style experiences to the small screen. You got a pocket-sized version of the bigger console game, which was a notable attempt.
You control a street racer driving through condensed versions of real cities like London and New York. The main goal is to win races to earn cash, unlock faster cars, and climb the ranks of the underground racing scene. Signature mechanics include navigating the open city streets between events, using a turbo boost for sudden bursts of speed, and evading police cars that try to ram you off the road. The races are fast and the traffic is relentless, making the difficulty pretty unforgiving if you crash often. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble to stay ahead of the pack.
