Midnight Club on GBA is basically the pocket-sized version of that PS2 street racing classic—which, yeah, was a launch title back in the day. You’re rolling with this underground crew, modding out rides and betting on illegal races. The cars handle way better than you’d expect for a handheld racer, though drifting takes some practice.
First thing you’ll notice? The city’s actually open, not just a bunch of preset tracks. You can peel out, find hidden shortcuts, or just annoy traffic until cops show up. Customization’s stripped down compared to consoles, but tweaking your ride still matters—slap on a turbo or mess with gear ratios before a race. Just don’t expect Gran Turismo levels of detail.
It’s got that grimy early-2000s arcade vibe where winning feels like you outsmarted the game as much as the AI. Solid port for blowing off steam between classes or bus rides.
