Metal Gear - Ghost Babel (or Ghost Babel, as most fans call it) is one of those sneaky little Game Boy Color gems that somehow pulls off a full-on Metal Gear experience on a tiny screen. It’s basically a pocket-sized version of Metal Gear Solid—same tense stealth action, same ridiculous codec calls, but with chunky pixel art and a surprisingly deep story for a handheld game.

You’re still sneaking past guards, hiding in boxes, and trying not to set off alarms, but the overhead view makes it feel more like the classic MSX Metal Gear games. The controls take a minute to get used to (good luck remembering which button does what), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying to pull off a perfect no-alert run. And yeah, there’s still a guy who won’t shut up about his backstory over the radio.
