Mermaid Melody : Pichi Pichi Pitch : Pichi Pichi Party Game

Okay, so if you grew up obsessed with the Mermaid Melody anime, this GBA game is basically a nostalgia bomb. You start off picking your favorite mermaid (I always went with Lucia, no regrets) and then it’s this weirdly fun mix of rhythm tapping and visual novel-style story bits. The music’s catchy as hell, even if some of the beats feel a little stiff on the GBA’s buttons.
There’s something oddly satisfying about hitting those notes while the characters belt out their songs—like, yeah, the graphics are pixelated, but the charm’s still there. And if you’ve seen the show, you’ll recognize all the drama with the evil mermaids trying to ruin everything. It’s cheesy in the best way possible.
Fair warning: the rhythm parts can get surprisingly tough later on, especially if you’re trying to S-rank everything. But honestly? It’s worth it just to see the little victory animations. They knew their audience.
