So, Last Bible II is that weird, kinda obscure spin-off of the Megami Tensei series that never made it out of Japan—which is a shame, because it’s actually pretty solid for a Game Boy Color RPG. You’ve got the usual demon-summoning and turn-based battles, but it’s got this grungy, low-fi charm that makes it feel different from the mainline SMT games.
First thing you’ll notice? The sprites are tiny but weirdly expressive, and the dungeon crawling is simple but satisfying. No fancy localization means you’ll either need a fan translation patch or a lot of patience with a guide, but if you’re into retro RPGs with a dark vibe, it’s worth the effort. The music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth sound too—haunting in the best way.
Honestly, it’s a shame this never got an official English release like the first game did. Feels like a lost gem for MegaTen fans.
