Medabots: Rokusho Version is one of those GBA gems that somehow makes turn-based robot fights feel personal. You start off picking parts for your Medabot—legs, arms, a head—and suddenly you're staring at this little mechanical dude who's about to throw down in back-alley bot brawls. I went with Rokusho because, come on, that beetle design is way too cool to pass up.
The fights are surprisingly tactical—you're not just mashing buttons. Positioning matters, special moves drain energy, and swapping parts mid-battle can turn things around. The story’s got that classic early 2000s anime vibe, complete with rival battles and weirdly high-stakes school tournaments. It’s cheesy in the best way.
Half the fun is scavenging for new parts after fights, then tweaking your Medabot’s loadout like some mad scientist. Just don’t expect deep RPG mechanics—it’s more about the charm of watching your customized bot clank into battle. If you ever wished Pokémon had more screws and welding, this is your game.
