Okay, so Maya the Bee: The Great Adventure on GBA is way more fun than I expected. You play as this tiny, hyperactive bee bouncing through flower fields, dodging spiders, and collecting nectar like it’s your job (because, well, it kinda is). The controls are simple—just jump and glide—but some of those later levels get sneaky with hidden paths and wasps that really don’t want you around.
What surprised me was how much personality it has. Maya hums when she’s idle, the backgrounds are these bright, chunky pixel-art meadows, and there’s this one grumpy beetle who keeps blocking bridges until you help him out. It’s got that old-school platformer vibe where you’ll replay a level just to find every last drop of honey. Not gonna lie, I got stuck for way too long on the windmill stage.
If you’re into cheerful, slightly chaotic platformers, this one’s a solid pick. Just watch out for the spiderwebs—they’re the worst.
