Alright, so Maya the Bee 2 on Game Boy Color—it’s exactly what you’d expect if you grew up with the show. You play as Maya, this tiny, hyperactive bee who bounces around flower fields, dodges wasps, and collects pollen like it’s her job (because, well, it is). The levels are bright and simple, with just enough platforming to keep you from getting bored between the story bits.
At first, I thought it’d be way too easy, but some of those later stages? Sneaky. You’ll be weaving through spiderwebs and timing jumps over ponds while trying not to get smacked by grumpy beetles. The music’s got that classic GBC chirpiness, and the sprites actually look like the cartoon, which is a nice touch. Not gonna lie, it’s a little short, but if you’re into old-school licensed games, this one’s got charm. Just don’t expect a hidden masterpiece.
