About Maya The Bee - The Great Adventure (e)(venom)
Maya the Bee: The Great Adventure came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, a European exclusive developed by Shin'en Multimedia and published by Acclaim. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers that filled the GBA library, a familiar sight next to other cartoon adaptations of the time.
You control Maya the bee, flying and running through side scrolling levels filled with insects and garden obstacles. Your main goal is to rescue your friend Willy, who has been captured; you travel across different themed worlds like the forest and the pond to find him. The gameplay involves collecting pollen from flowers to fill a power meter, which then allows you to perform a temporary speed boost. You also use a spin attack to fend off hostile bugs like hornets and spiders. The levels are generally straightforward, with a moderate pace and a difficulty that is forgiving for younger players.
