Play Martian Alert Online

I picked up Martian Alert for the Game Boy Color back when it first released. It was one of those space shooters that felt right at home on the handheld, a time when developers were really figuring out what the system could do. I don't recall who made it, but it had that distinct look and feel of a late 90s portable title.

You pilot a small, nimble spacecraft from a top down perspective. Your main goal is to defend Earth by clearing each area of alien invaders. The game progresses screen by screen; you wipe out all the enemies on one screen to advance to the next. You have a standard forward shot, but you can also collect power ups to change your weapon, like a spread shot or lasers. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming in from all sides, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes. It feels tense and immediate, a constant test of your ability to dodge and return fire under pressure.
