Magical Quest Starring Mickey & Minnie is one of those GBA platformers that just oozes charm. You start off picking between Mickey or Minnie (I always go Minnie—her animations are adorable) and immediately get tossed into this bright, cartoony world full of floating platforms and goofy enemies. The controls feel tight, and swapping between different magic outfits—like the wizard robe that lets you shoot fireballs—keeps the gameplay from getting stale.

What really stuck with me were the little details: the way Mickey’s ears bounce when he jumps, or how some levels have these hidden paths if you take a risky leap off-screen. It’s not super hard, but there’s enough variety in the bosses and stage gimmicks (that lava level still gives me mild panic) to keep it interesting. Also, the music? Peak GBA-era Disney—catchy but not obnoxious after the 50th loop.

If you’ve got a soft spot for classic Disney or just want a solid platformer with personality, this one’s a great time. Just don’t blame me when you hum the forest theme for days.
