Magical Fengshen (j)(cezar) Game

Magical Fengshen is one of those obscure GBA RPGs that slipped under the radar—probably because it never left Japan. You start off picking between three characters (I went with the spear girl, no regrets), and right away you're thrown into this weird mix of turn-based combat and... card collecting? Yeah, it's got this odd system where you summon monsters mid-battle using cards you find or buy.
The sprites are chunky in that early GBA way, but there's charm to it—especially the enemy designs, which go from "cute slimes" to "what even is that thing" real fast. The menus are a mess if you don't read Japanese, though. Took me way too long to figure out how to equip new cards.
If you're into digging up forgotten RPGs with janky mechanics, this one's a weird little time capsule.
