About Madden Nfl 2003 (u)(venom)
Madden NFL 2003 for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2002 from EA Sports. It was part of that first wave of sports titles trying to bring a console feel to a handheld, with John Madden and Al Michaels on commentary and Marshall Faulk of the St. Louis Rams on the cover. For its time, it was a solid attempt to fit a complex sport into a small cartridge.
You control the entire offense or defense, calling plays from a simplified playbook and then executing them on the field. The main goal is to outscore your opponent by moving the ball downfield, either through running plays or passing. Key mechanics include the two button passing system for quick throws and the juke and spin moves for breaking tackles with your ball carrier. The game moves at a brisk pace, and while the AI can be challenging, it is manageable after a few games. It feels responsive and surprisingly complete for a pocket sized football experience.
