Madden NFL 07 on the GBA is one of those handheld football games that somehow squeezes way more depth than you'd expect into a tiny cartridge. Yeah, it's not the flashy PS3 or Wii version, but it's got that classic Madden feel—just portable.
First thing you notice? The lead blocking controls actually work pretty well for a GBA game. You can finally tell your linemen where to go instead of just hoping they don’t whiff the block. The playbooks are surprisingly detailed too—I spent way too long figuring out which audibles worked best against my buddy’s blitz-heavy defense.
Graphics are obviously basic, but the animations are smooth enough that you can still pull off some satisfying jukes or last-second touchdown passes. If you’ve ever wanted Madden in your pocket (and don’t mind some pixelated end zone celebrations), this one’s a solid pick.
