Madagascar on the GBA is one of those licensed games that actually surprised me—it's not just a lazy movie tie-in. You start off as Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, and the rest of the crew, running through New York streets before things go wild (literally). The controls are simple, but the levels have enough variety to keep it interesting—jungle escapes, zoo chaos, even some sneaky stealth bits.

Graphics are solid for a GBA title, with bright colors and decent animations. The music? Surprisingly catchy, especially the main theme that gets stuck in your head. It’s not the deepest game out there, but if you’re into platformers or just love the movie, it’s a fun little time capsule from the mid-2000s.

You can play it on emulators these days, but good luck finding an original cartridge—they’re getting rare.
