MX 2002 with Ricky Carmichael is one of those GBA motocross games that actually gets the speed right—your bike feels light and twitchy, just like it should on dirt. The first race throws you straight into a tight track with ruts and jumps, and if you don’t time your landings right, you’ll eat dirt hard. Carmichael’s name is all over this, but honestly, the real star is how satisfying it is to nail a perfect whip off a jump.
It’s not super deep—pick a bike, pick a track, and go—but the controls are sharp enough that you’ll keep retrying just to shave half a second off your lap time. The AI riders actually put up a fight, too; they’ll bump you if you take a bad line. If you’ve got a soft spot for early 2000s racing games, this one’s a solid time capsule.
