Lucky Luke on Game Boy Color is one of those late-90s licensed games that somehow works better than it should. You play as the lanky cowboy himself, jumping between rooftops, lassoing outlaws, and occasionally getting into shootouts where you actually have to aim your shots—none of that auto-targeting nonsense. The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the music’s got that classic GBC tinny charm.
It’s not the deepest action-platformer out there, but there’s something satisfying about the way Luke moves—his lasso acts like a grappling hook at times, letting you swing over gaps or yank enemies off their feet. The European version’s got language options, though honestly, you won’t miss much if you stick with English. Just expect a lot of "Dang it, Dalton brothers!" vibes.
If you’re into retro Western games or just want something simple to burn through an afternoon, this one’s got enough quirks to stay interesting.
