Lord Of The Rings 3 : Imperfect World Game

Okay, so Lord of the Rings 3: Imperfect World on Game Boy Color is this weird little gem that somehow crammed Middle-earth into a tiny cartridge. You start off wandering through pixelated forests that somehow still feel like Tolkien’s world—until an orc jumps out and you realize combat’s basically rock-paper-scissors with swords. Not gonna lie, the first time I played, I got wrecked because I kept spamming attack instead of actually blocking.
The puzzles are surprisingly clever for a GBC game, though. There’s one early section where you’ve gotta light torches in the right order, and if you mess up, the game just lets you fail spectacularly. No hand-holding here. And yeah, the graphics are dated, but there’s charm in how the sprite for Gandalf is basically just a hat with legs.
If you’re into retro RPGs or just love LOTR enough to forgive some jank, it’s worth a play—just don’t expect a flawless epic. The "imperfect" in the title isn’t lying.
