Okay, so Little Mermaid 2 on Game Boy Color is one of those licensed Disney games that actually doesn’t suck. You play as Melody (Ariel’s daughter), swimming around coral reefs, dodging jellyfish, and collecting pearls—pretty standard stuff at first. But the controls are smooth, and the underwater world actually feels alive with little details, like schools of fish scattering when you swim by.
What surprised me was the puzzle bits—you’ll push shells to open paths or sneak past moray eels in tight caves. The music’s got that classic Disney charm, too, even if it’s all chiptune. It’s not super hard, but there’s enough variety to keep it from feeling like a lazy movie tie-in. If you’ve got a soft spot for GBC-era Disney games, this one’s a solid dive.
