Okay, so Tomb Raider: The Prophecy on GBA is one of those handheld gems that actually makes Lara feel like Lara, even on a tiny screen. It’s not just a watered-down port—you’ve got the classic side-scrolling action, but with puzzles that’ll make you stop and think for a second. The controls take a minute to get used to (why does jumping always feel a little stiff on GBA?), but once you’re swinging across gaps and dodging traps, it clicks.
Weirdly, the Japanese version (this one) has some slightly different enemy placements and a couple of extra secrets. Nothing game-changing, but if you’ve played the US/EU release before, it’s a fun little twist. Also, the music? Surprisingly moody for a Game Boy Advance title—those chiptune echoes in the tomb levels actually set the vibe.
If you’re emulating, just know the diagonal shots with the pistols are way harder without actual buttons. Still, it’s a solid pocket-sized Tomb Raider fix.
