Land Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse Game

Land of Illusion is one of those Mickey Mouse platformers that actually holds up surprisingly well. You start off in this dreamy, slightly eerie version of Disney where everything feels just a little off—like Mickey wandered into a storybook that got left out in the rain. The controls are tight, and the levels have this cool mix of platforming and light puzzle-solving (nothing too brain-melting, just enough to keep you paying attention).
What really stuck with me were the visuals—for an 8-bit game, the backgrounds have this weirdly atmospheric quality, like the haunted forest level where the trees almost look like they're watching you. And yeah, you’ll bump into a few familiar Disney faces, but they’re not just there for fan service—some actually help (or mess with) you along the way. The music’s got that classic Sega Master System chirpiness too, which somehow works perfectly with the whole vibe.
It’s not a super hard game, but there’s enough charm here to make it worth revisiting if you grew up with it—or just like weird little retro platformers with personality. Definitely one of the better Mickey titles from that era.
