You control Littlefoot, the young Apatosaurus, through a series of side scrolling levels. Your main goal is to find your way back to the Great Valley after getting separated from your grandparents. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping across platforms and avoiding or dealing with other dinosaurs. You collect tree stars, which are scattered everywhere, and you use a tail whip attack to fend off smaller enemies. The levels are linear but have some verticality, requiring careful navigation. It can be a bit unforgiving with its jumps and enemy placement, demanding patience. Moving through the prehistoric world feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging trek.
