Okay, so Land Before Time on Game Boy Color is basically a nostalgia trip if you grew up with the movie. You play as Littlefoot and the gang—Cera’s stubborn as ever, Ducky’s still adorable—and it’s all about hopping between platforms, dodging those weird pterodactyl things, and collecting berries (because apparently, that’s what dinosaurs ate?). The pixel art’s actually pretty charming for a GBC game, with these little sunset-colored backdrops that feel straight out of the Great Valley.
It’s not super deep—mostly running, jumping, and the occasional “push a rock to unlock the next area” puzzle—but there’s something weirdly cozy about it. Like, yeah, the controls are a tiny bit floaty, but after 10 minutes you stop noticing. And hearing that tinny version of the movie’s theme? Instant serotonin.
Honestly, it’s the kind of game you play when you just want to zone out with something simple and familiar. Just don’t expect a hidden masterpiece—it’s a licensed game from 2000, after all.
