LEGO: Stunt Rally on Game Boy Color is one of those weirdly charming racing games where you can build your own tracks before tearing through them. The controls are simple—just gas, brake, and a handbrake for sharp turns—but the real fun comes from the ridiculous jumps and loops you can slap together with LEGO pieces. First race, I stacked way too many ramps and sent my car flying into oblivion. Lesson learned.
It’s got that classic LEGO aesthetic, all bright colors and blocky cars, and the AI opponents actually put up a decent fight. Power-ups are scattered around, like speed boosts and oil slicks, but half the time I was too busy trying not to flip my car mid-loop to use them properly. The track editor’s a little clunky by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about watching your janky creation actually work when you race on it. If you ever played with LEGO as a kid, this’ll hit that nostalgia sweet spot.
