Kong: The Animated Series on GBA is basically what you'd expect from a licensed platformer from that era—solid, straightforward, and packed with vine-swinging action. You start off jumping between trees, smashing through obstacles, and punching weird robot enemies (because of course there are robots). The controls are simple—run, jump, attack—but the levels throw in enough pits and tricky jumps to keep you on your toes.
It’s not the deepest game, but the sprites are surprisingly detailed for a GBA title, and Kong’s animations have that satisfying weight to them when he lands a big punch. Some of the later levels get pretty chaotic, with enemies swarming you while you’re trying to platform, which can be frustrating but also weirdly fun if you’re into that old-school trial-and-error vibe. If you grew up with the cartoon or just miss early 2000s handheld platformers, it’s a decent way to kill an afternoon.
