Alright, so Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World on GBA—yeah, it’s basically you playing as the big guy himself, smashing through jungles and climbing skyscrapers like it’s nothing. The first thing you’ll notice? The animations are surprisingly smooth for a handheld game—Kong actually feels heavy when he moves, which is weirdly satisfying.
You start off in the jungle, swatting away dinosaurs and tossing boulders like they’re pebbles. Then, once you hit the city, things get wild—you’re scaling buildings, dodging biplanes, and yeah, you will grab a few unlucky soldiers and just… yeet them. The puzzles are simple but keep you from just button-mashing, and the movie references are a nice touch if you’re into that.
It’s not perfect—some of the platforming can be janky—but for a licensed GBA game? Way better than it had any right to be. If you ever wanted to live out that classic King Kong chaos, this is your shot.
