Kong - The Animated Series on GBA is one of those early 2000s licensed games that somehow ended up being way more fun than it had any right to be. You play as Kong (obviously), smashing through jungle levels with his weird extendable arms and occasionally teaming up with other characters from the show.
The controls take a minute to get used to—his stretchy punches feel kinda floaty at first, but once you figure out the timing, you’re flinging enemies into pits and swinging across gaps like a pro. Some of the later levels get surprisingly tough, especially when those robotic bugs swarm you. And yeah, the graphics are definitely GBA-era, but the animations have this goofy charm that fits the cartoon perfectly.
If you’re into old-school side-scrollers or just miss early 2000s cartoon tie-ins, this one’s a solid time-waster. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.
