Okay, so this is one of those weird licensed games that actually turned out decent. It's a top-down action RPG that kinda feels like a stripped-down Zelda—you explore jungles, bash enemies with clubs, and solve simple puzzles as Jack from the 2005 King Kong movie. The combat's clunky but satisfying once you get used to it, and there's this neat day/night cycle where different creatures come out after dark.
What surprised me was how much they squeezed into a GBA cart. You'll climb vines, swing across gaps, and even get to play as Kong himself in some brutal first-person rampage sections. The pixel art's actually pretty nice for a movie tie-in, especially the jungle backgrounds. Just don't expect deep storytelling—it's mostly about whacking dinosaurs with a spear while occasionally triggering cutscenes from the film.
It's janky in that early 2000s handheld way, but there's charm in how ambitious it is for a licensed title.
