Konchuu No Mori No Daibouken is one of those weird little GBA gems that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s basically a bug-collecting RPG with surprisingly deep mechanics. You start off wandering through this lush forest, smacking bushes with a net to catch beetles and butterflies like some kind of tiny Pokémon trainer.
The battles are turn-based but with a twist: your bugs have different stats and abilities, and some of them evolve if you train them right. I remember spending way too long trying to get this one stag beetle to its final form, only to realize I’d been feeding it the wrong type of tree sap. Classic.
It’s got that classic Caravan-style charm—simple graphics but packed with personality. If you’re into obscure retro stuff or just really like beetles, this one’s a fun time waster.
