Kinniku Banzuke: Kongou-kun No Daibouken! came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by KCEO and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of games based on the popular Japanese TV obstacle course show, Muscle Ranking, and it fit right in on a system loaded with quirky, physical challenge titles. You don't see many games like this outside of Japan, which made finding a copy an adventure in itself.

You control Kongou-kun, a determined little character, through a series of side-view obstacle courses. Your main goal is simply to reach the goal flag at the end of each stage without falling or running out of time. The gameplay revolves around careful timing and momentum; you swing from ropes, balance on narrow beams, and leap across moving platforms. One wrong move sends you tumbling into the water or onto the spikes below, forcing an immediate restart. The difficulty is unforgiving, demanding precise jumps and a good sense of your character's weight. It feels like a constant test of your patience and coordination, where every successful stage clear brings a genuine sigh of relief.
