I picked up Kill.Switch for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a Namco release that came out when the handheld was full of ambitious action games trying to push the hardware. It was a time when developers were squeezing console-like experiences onto the small screen, and this was one of those attempts.

You control a soldier navigating through hostile environments, and your main goal is to survive a series of missions by eliminating enemy forces. The gameplay hinges on its cover system; you press against walls and barriers to avoid fire, then lean out to shoot. You move screen by screen through these combat zones, managing your limited ammunition and health. The pace is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush. It feels tense and methodical, forcing you to think about every piece of cover you use.
