If you're into Gundam Seed, this GBA game actually does a solid job of capturing that early 2000s mecha vibe. You start off picking your mobile suit—I went with the Strike Gundam first, obviously—and the controls feel surprisingly smooth for a handheld. The sprites are chunky but detailed, and there's something satisfying about watching beam sabers clash in those little pixelated explosions.
It's not just mindless action, either. Between battles, you get these short visual novel-style scenes with the crew, which is a nice throwback if you remember the anime. The dialogue's in Japanese, but if you know the characters, it's easy enough to follow along. The mission structure keeps things moving—one minute you're defending the Archangel, the next you're dueling Athrun in zero gravity. Gets pretty tense when your armor's in the red and you're scrambling for repair kits.
Definitely more fun if you're already a fan of the series, but even if you're just into retro mech games, it holds up better than most GBA licensed titles. Just don't expect deep customization—this is more about reliving key moments with a joystick in hand.
