Ever played Pokémon but wished it had more of a weird, late-90s Japanese cyberpunk vibe? That’s Telefang. The Speed Version throws you into this bizarre world where you "call" monsters (Denjuu) using a cell phone—which, back on the Game Boy Color, felt oddly futuristic. The battles are snappier than the original, and the creature designs are... let’s just say they didn’t hold back on the "what even is that?" factor.
You’ll spend the first few minutes figuring out how to recruit these little digital beasts while navigating a world that feels like a glitchy, neon-drenched Tamagotchi dream. Some of the mechanics are janky by today’s standards, but there’s charm in how aggressively 2001 it all is. If you’re into obscure monster-collecting oddities, this one’s a trip.
