Kawa No Nushi Tsuri 5: Fushigi No Mori Kara is one of those weirdly cozy GBA fishing games where you’re not just catching fish—you’re wandering through this dreamy forest full of little secrets. The pixel art has that warm, slightly washed-out GBA look, and the fishing mechanics are simple but satisfying once you get the hang of the timing.
At first, I thought it’d just be another basic fishing sim, but there’s something about the way the forest changes depending on where you cast your line—like certain spots only open up at specific times, or you’ll hook something… not exactly a fish. The soundtrack’s all soft synth melodies, too, which makes it weirdly perfect for late-night play sessions.
If you’ve played any of the other games in the series, this one feels like a natural step up, but even if you haven’t, it’s easy to just zone out and enjoy the vibe. Just don’t expect a high-stakes fishing tournament—it’s more about the atmosphere than competition.
