Karan Koron Gakuen - Hanafuda Mahjong (japan) Game

Karan Koron Gakuen is one of those weird little Game Boy Color gems—a mashup of hanafuda (those old Japanese flower cards) and mahjong, wrapped in a school-life theme. You’re basically playing against anime-style students, and the art’s got that early 2000s charm—bright colors, chibi characters, the works.
At first, it feels like a stripped-down mahjong game, but then the hanafuda rules sneak in, and suddenly you’re trying to remember which flower combos score big. Took me a few rounds to stop mixing up the peony and cherry blossom cards, honestly. The AI’s not brutal, so it’s a decent way to learn if you’re new to either game.
No English patch exists, but the menus are simple enough to stumble through. Just don’t expect a deep story—it’s all about quick matches with quirky opponents. Perfect for killing time between classes, just like the title suggests.
