Kao The Kangaroo (e)(rocket) Game

Kao The Kangaroo on GBA is one of those classic 3D platformers that somehow got squeezed into a tiny cartridge—and honestly, it kinda works? You play as this goofy kangaroo bouncing around colorful levels, punching enemies with boxing gloves (because of course he has boxing gloves). The controls are a little stiff at first, but once you get used to the jumps and punches, it’s weirdly satisfying to knock out weirdly designed enemies.
First level throws you into some jungle ruins with floating platforms and coins everywhere. The music’s upbeat in that early 2000s way, and the art style’s got that exaggerated cartoon vibe—big eyes, oversized paws, you know the drill. It’s not the deepest platformer out there, but if you’re into hopping around collecting fruit and kicking bad guys, it’s a solid little time-waster. Just don’t expect Mario-level polish.
