About Jurassic Park Iii : Advance Action
Jurassic Park III: Advance Action came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, published by Konami. It was part of that early wave of GBA titles that tried to bring more complex action and adventure games to a handheld screen. You control a character trying to survive on Isla Sorna after a plane crash, navigating through jungles and facilities overrun with dinosaurs.
You move through the island screen by screen, using a tranquilizer gun to temporarily subdue dinosaurs and a knife for close encounters. Your main goal is to find and rescue the missing boy, Eric Kirby, which involves exploring different areas, solving simple environmental puzzles, and collecting key items to progress. The pacing is deliberate, with a constant need to manage your limited ammo and health while avoiding or stunning predators. It feels tense and methodical, a careful negotiation with a world that is actively trying to eat you.
