Jinsei Game - Tomodachi Takusan Tsukurou Yo! is one of those quirky Japanese Game Boy Color life sims that never made it overseas. It's like a stripped-down, portable version of The Game of Life with a cute anime aesthetic. You roll dice, move around the board, and make choices that affect your little character's path—career, relationships, random events, all that stuff.
At first it feels super simple, but there's a weird charm to watching your pixelated avatar stumble through adulthood in fast-forward. The dialogue's all in Japanese, so unless you're fluent, you'll be guessing at some of the choices (I definitely picked "yes" to a marriage proposal by accident once). Still, the core gameplay's easy enough to follow even if you don't understand everything.
Definitely more of a novelty than a deep strategy game, but it's got that early 2000s handheld vibe down perfectly.
