I picked up Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Attack of the Twonkies for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004. It was published by THQ, a familiar name from that era of licensed games, and it fit right in with the other cartoon and movie adaptations crowding the handheld's library at the time.
You control Jimmy Neutron directly, running and jumping through levels to stop the spread of the Twonkies, these weird alien creatures. The main goal is to find and collect Twonky Cores scattered across different locations like Jimmy's town and his lab. Your main tools are a shrink ray, which lets you access small passages, and a blaster to fight off the various Twonky enemies. The game is structured with screen by screen platforming, and you often have to backtrack with new gadgets to reach previously inaccessible areas. It can get a bit repetitive, and some of the jumps require precise timing. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky mission to clean up your own mess.
