Invader (e)(venom) Game

Invader on the GBA is one of those weird little space shooters that feels like it got lost in time. You're piloting this tiny ship against waves of alien crafts, and the controls are surprisingly tight for a handheld game—dodging feels just right, even when the screen starts filling up with enemy fire.
The pixel art has that classic early 2000s charm, all chunky and colorful, though some of the enemy designs look like they were scribbled in a notebook during math class. Still, there's something satisfying about blasting through formations while the soundtrack pumps out these crunchy electronic beats.
It's not the deepest shooter out there, but if you're looking for something quick to play in short bursts, this one holds up better than you'd expect. Just don't go in expecting a hidden masterpiece.
