About International Rally
International Rally came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Natsume. It was part of that wave of portable racers trying to capture a sense of speed on the small screen, a straightforward entry in the genre without a lot of extra fuss.
You control a rally car across a series of international tracks, from dusty desert paths to slick, rain-soaked tarmac. The main goal is to win each race, climbing through the championship ranks. The driving is split-screen, showing your car's position relative to the competition, and you must manage your car's limited fuel and wear, making pit stops a regular part of the strategy. The tracks are narrow and demand precise control to avoid spinning out or hitting obstacles. It feels like a constant battle for traction, a focused test of your ability to read the road and manage your resources under pressure.
