Ice Age 2: The Meltdown came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by Sierra Entertainment and developed by Amaze Entertainment. It arrived at a time when the handheld was still home to a lot of licensed games based on animated films. This one follows the plot of the movie, putting you in control of the main herd as they try to escape the valley before a melting glacier dam breaks and floods everything.

You primarily control Manny the mammoth, Sid the sloth, and Diego the saber-toothed tiger, switching between them to use their unique abilities. Manny can smash through ice barriers, Sid can climb certain vines and walls, and Diego can leap across wider gaps. The main goal is to guide the herd safely through a series of side-scrolling levels, solving environmental puzzles and avoiding predators like the two weasels, Crash and Eddie. You collect acorns scattered throughout the stages, which are used to unlock later areas on the world map. The pacing is straightforward, but some of the platforming requires precise timing, especially in later levels. Playing it feels like a brisk, sometimes tricky trek through the movie's key locations.
