Hunter X Hunter - Kindan No Hihou is one of those late-era Game Boy Color RPGs that flew under the radar—probably because it never left Japan. You play as Gon and his crew hunting for treasure, but it’s way more than just a basic turn-based grind. The combat’s got this weird rock-paper-scissors twist where you pick attack styles, and if you guess right, you can chain combos. Mess up, though, and you’re eating a counter.
The sprites are chunky but full of charm, and the dungeons actually make you think a little—none of that mindless hallway walking. Only downside? No English patch (yet), so unless you’re cool with menus in Japanese, it’s a bit of a gamble. Still, if you’re into obscure Hunter X Hunter stuff, this is a neat little time capsule.
