So, Hugo - The Evil Mirror is one of those classic GBA platformers where you play as three little troll siblings trying to rescue their dad from a witch’s curse. Scylla (who’s basically the worst) trapped Hugo in a broken mirror, and now his kids have to track down the scattered pieces across this weird, kinda creepy forest.
Each troll kid handles differently—some jump higher, others are better at smashing obstacles—so you’re constantly switching between them to solve puzzles and dodge enemies. The forest levels are packed with traps, floating platforms, and those annoying bats that dive at you out of nowhere. First time I played, I lost like five lives just figuring out the timing on the vine swings.
It’s got that old-school charm where everything’s bright and cartoony but weirdly tough in spots. If you’re into retro platformers with a bit of puzzle-solving, this one’s a solid pick. Just watch out for the piranha plants—they’re sneaky.
