I picked up Hugo - Bukkazoom back in 2004, a Game Boy Advance title from ITE Media. It was part of that wave of European-developed games that sometimes flew under the radar. You control Hugo, the troll from the long-running series, but this time he's behind the wheel in a kart racing game. It fits right in with the portable multiplayer racers of that era, a familiar concept with its own cast of characters.

You race through themed tracks, using items to attack opponents or gain a speed boost. The main goal is straightforward: finish first across a cup series. Two mechanics stand out. One is the ability to perform stunts off jumps, which can fill your boost meter. The other is the weapon system, where you collect power-ups that range from simple projectiles to more disruptive traps. The pacing is quick, and the AI provides a decent challenge, especially on later circuits. It feels like a solid, no-frills kart game that captures the simple fun of the genre.
