This is a no-frills, straight-up Japanese mahjong game for the Game Boy Color—no fancy gimmicks, just solid four-player riichi mahjong. The AI’s decent for a handheld title, though it’ll still pull some questionable discards that make you side-eye the screen. Graphics are basic (it’s a GBC game, after all), but the tile designs are clean, and the sound effects have that satisfying plastic-on-plastic clack when you draw. If you’re used to modern mahjong games with tutorials, be warned: this one throws you right into the deep end. I spent my first match accidentally dealing into a yakuman because I misread a suji trap. Classic.
