Hobbit No Bouken (j)(caravan) Game

Hobbit No Bouken is one of those weird little GBA games that slipped under the radar—it's a Japanese-exclusive action RPG based on The Hobbit, but with some odd quirks. You control Bilbo through side-scrolling platform sections and turn-based battles, which sounds messy but somehow works. The sprites are tiny but charming, and the music has that classic GBA chiptune vibe.
At first, I thought it was just another licensed cash-grab, but there’s actually some depth here—different weapons, magic spells, and even a day/night cycle that affects enemies. The translation barrier can be rough if you don’t know Japanese, but if you’ve played enough RPGs, you can kinda fumble through it. Definitely a niche pick for Tolkien fans or GBA collectors.
