Hime Kishi Monogatari - Princess Blue is a Japan only Game Boy Advance release from 2004, developed by Starfish SD. It arrived late in the platform's life, a time when developers were still exploring what the hardware could do with action and adventure games. You control a princess, naturally, who sets out to reclaim her kingdom from a demonic invasion.
You guide the princess through a series of side scrolling stages, using a sword for close combat and a bow for hitting distant enemies and switches. The main goal is to fight through each level, defeat the boss, and recover a piece of the royal regalia. Exploration is screen by screen, with some light platforming and block pushing puzzles to uncover hidden paths. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush into encounters. Playing it feels like a methodical, sometimes punishing, test of your timing and observation.
