About High Heat Major League Baseball 2002
High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Team .366 and published by 3DO. It was one of the early baseball titles on the handheld, arriving when developers were still figuring out how to translate a full sports simulation to a small screen. You got real MLB teams and players, which was a big deal for a portable game at the time.
You control the pitcher or batter during each at bat, aiming to strike out opponents or get hits. The main objective is to win games, either in a single exhibition or through a full season mode. Signature mechanics include a pitching meter where you time your release for accuracy, and a batting cursor you position to meet the ball. The game has a quicker pace than some console versions, but the pitching, especially on higher difficulties, requires real precision. It feels like a solid, condensed version of baseball that fits in your pocket.
